Gallery Delaive is a Modern & Contemporary art gallery founded in 1977. Gallery owner Nico Delaive started in his twenties with his first gallery in Amsterdam, and after three locations over the years, the gallery is now situated a stone’s throw away from the Rijksmuseum on the Spiegelgracht, where his first gallery also started. Ow it’s a family business.
The gallery represents a wide range of international artists and presents work across all media, including painting, drawing, sculpture, and installation, while cultivating the lineages that connect emerging and established artists.
Nico Delaive’s journey began with the profound connections he made with artists like Walasse Ting, Sam Francis and Karel Appel. Over the years Gallery Delaive has developed into a leading specialist for these artists, even becoming the official representative of the Sam Francis Foundation in Europe. Simultaneously, it has expanded its expertise to other major Post-War artist such as Niki de Saint Phalle and has for contemporary artists from all over the world, including Takashi Murakami, Ayako Rokkaku, Yuina Wada and Peter Anton.
